Research Group Embedded InteractionThe main interest of the research group Embedded Interaction is the development of concepts, methods and toolkits to advance embedded human computer interaction. Embedding of human computer interaction is investigated in two way. Firstly we look at how interaction technology, such as sensors and actuators can be embedded in devices, tools and everyday objects. Secondly we are interested how interaction with information can be embedded in tasks humans are doing. |
The group was founded in May 2004 and is headed by Dr. Albrecht Schmidt. Currently it employs two full-time research assistants Paul Holleis and Matthias Kranz. Additionally several students studying towards their PhD and Master are working in the group.
The research group is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and kindly hosted in the rooms of the Lehr- und Forschungseinheit Medieninformatik with chair holder Prof. Dr. Heinrich Hußmann of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany.
Since December 2006, Albrecht Schmidt has a joint position at Fraunhofer IAIS and B-IT at the University of Bonn. For further information please see the web page of the User Interface Engineering Group.
